Storage
Every account gets 1 GB of free storage for product photos. You can buy more at any time.
Storage is the space your product photos take up on ShowCato. Good photos sell products, so it helps to know how much space you have and what uses it.
What uses storage
Product photos are what count. Each photo you upload is added to your total. When you delete a photo, or delete a product with its photos, that space comes back.
- Storage belongs to your account, not to one business. If you run more than one business, they share the same space.
- Photos your team members upload also count towards your account's storage.
- Each photo can be up to 5 MB. Smaller, well-cropped photos let you fit far more products.
How far does 1 GB go?
1 GB is about 1,024 MB. If your photos are around 500 KB each, that is roughly 2,000 photos. At 3 photos per product, that covers about 650 products. Large phone photos of 3 to 5 MB fill the space much faster.
Before uploading, resize big phone photos to about 1000 × 1000 px. Buyers see them on phones, so they still look sharp, and you use a fraction of the space.
Check your usage
Open Storage to see space used and available. Warnings appear at 75% and 90% full. At 100%, new photo uploads are blocked.
The Storage & Billing page shows:
- The percentage of storage used, with a bar.
- MB used out of your total MB.
- Free: your free allowance, and Available: the space you have left.

These warnings show on the Storage page, so check it now and then if you upload many photos.

Choose a pack and click Submit Storage Request. The ShowCato team activates it.
How a storage request works
- In Request Additional Storage, click a pack. The Request Summary shows the size and price for 1 year.
- Click Submit Storage Request. A support request opens, already filled in with the pack and price.
- Add a note if you like, then click Submit Request.
- The ShowCato team reviews your request and activates the storage manually.
Your request is saved as a ticket in Help & Support. You can follow it and reply there.
Extra storage is billed at ₹100 per GB per year. See Pricing & Add-ons for everything else that is paid.
Free up space
Free up space by deleting products or photos you no longer use.
- Remove extra photos. Three good photos usually sell as well as five.
- Delete old designs. Products you no longer make or stock still use space. Deleting a product removes its photos too.
- Replace huge photos. Delete a 5 MB photo and upload a smaller copy of the same picture.
Deleting a product is permanent. If you might sell it again, set its status to Draft instead. Note that a Draft product's photos still use storage.
Common questions
Does the logo or banner count?
The storage total tracks product photos. Keep your logo and banners within their own size limits.
Is the free 1 GB per business?
No. It is per account. All your businesses share it.
