Buyer Analytics
For every link, ShowCato records how long the buyer stayed, what they viewed and selected, and whether they sent an enquiry.
When you send a catalog on WhatsApp as photos or a PDF, you never know what happened next. Did the buyer open it? Which designs caught their eye? Buyer Analytics answers these questions for every catalog link you share.
Use it to decide who to call first, what to say on the call, and which products are pulling buyers in. It is free and works on every link, with nothing to switch on.
Every visit is logged with the date, time and device.
Time spent on the link and on each product.
Products selected, unticked, zoomed and sent in an enquiry.
Hot visits and abandoned selections show you where to follow up.
Where to find it
Open Shared Catalog, click a link and scroll to Buyer Analytics. Click Refresh for the latest data.
Analytics are kept per link. If you send one buyer three different links, each link has its own numbers. A link with no visits yet shows "No visits yet".
Summary
Four numbers at the top give you the health of the link at a glance.
| Number | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Total Opens | Times the link was opened |
| Enquiries Sent | Visits that ended in a quotation |
| Abandoned | Selected products but did not send |
| Conversion Rate | Share of visits that ended in an enquiry |
Reading the numbers
Say you shared a link with a dealer's purchase team. It shows 8 Total Opens, 2 Enquiries Sent and a 25% Conversion Rate. That means two of the eight visits ended in a quotation.
A high Abandoned number is a signal, not a failure. The buyer liked something enough to select it but stopped short. Often they were waiting for a price confirmation, a colleague's approval or stock news.
Abandoned counts products that were selected but not sent, so one visit can add more than one to it.
Every visit
All Sessions lists each visit: date, phone or computer, time spent, products viewed and reopens. 🔥 marks a hot visit: the buyer came back or stayed 60 seconds or more.
Visit status
Each visit gets a status badge and a short note that explains it in plain words.
| Badge | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| ✅ Enquiry Sent | The buyer sent a quotation | Reply from Enquiries |
| ⚠️ Abandoned | Selected products but did not send | Call or message today |
| 👀 Browsing | Browsed without selecting | Ask what they are looking for |
| 📋 Viewed Only | Opened but did not browse | Send a short reminder |
| 😴 No Action | The visit recorded no activity | Check you sent the right link |
When a visit ends in an enquiry, the row also shows the channel the buyer used, such as WhatsApp or email.
Hot visits 🔥
A buyer who opens your link again, or spends a minute or more on it, is seriously considering an order. These are your warmest leads. Call them while your catalog is fresh in their mind.
Example: a hardware dealer opens your fittings catalog on Monday for 40 seconds, then again on Tuesday. That second open marks the visit hot. A quick call on Tuesday afternoon often closes the order.
Product interest
Product Engagement shows viewing time, photo zooms and selections per product, with an interest level from Glanced to In Enquiry.
The figures add up across all visits to the link. Products are sorted by total viewing time, so the most-looked-at items come first. Small tags show 🔍 Zoomed, ☑️ Selected (with a count), ↩ Unticked and ✅ In enquiry.
Interest levels
| Level | What it means |
|---|---|
| 💨 Glanced | Seen for less than 3 seconds |
| 🌀 Low | Viewed for 3 seconds or more |
| 👀 Medium | Viewed for 10 seconds or more |
| 🔥 High Interest | Viewed for 30 seconds or more, or a photo was zoomed |
| ☑️ Selected | The buyer ticked the product |
| ✅ In Enquiry | The product was part of a sent quotation |
Using product interest
- High Interest but not selected: the buyer liked it but hesitated. Price, minimum quantity or delivery may be the question.
- Unticked: they selected it, then changed their mind. Ask why. You may learn about a competitor's price.
- Glanced across most products: the selection may not suit this buyer. Try a smaller, more focused link.
Selected but NOT enquired lists products the buyer picked but never sent. Follow up on these first.
Following up with analytics
Analytics are most useful when you act on them quickly. A simple order of priority works for most sellers.
- Check the Selected but NOT enquired box. These buyers were one tap away from sending.
- Look for 🔥 hot visits without an enquiry. Call them the same day.
- Look at High Interest products. Mention them by name in your follow-up.
- For Viewed Only visits, send a short WhatsApp reminder with the link.
What to say
Keep the follow-up helpful, not pushy. You do not need to tell the buyer you saw their activity. Instead, mention the products and offer help.
- "I saw you may like our 2-inch brass hinges. Shall I hold 500 pcs for you?"
- "The navy cotton shade is back in stock. Want me to add it to your quotation?"
- "For orders above 100 pcs we can offer a better rate. Shall I send a revised quotation?"
- "Did you see the catalog?" to every buyer
- Same follow-up for everyone
- No idea which designs are popular
- Call hot and abandoned buyers first
- Talk about the exact products they liked
- Stock and promote what buyers look at most
